Trainer Bec & James:
Bec and James are part of the London Swing Dance Community and have found success in dancing and teaching together throughout 2017. James who only had ambition to dance when he was a child stumbled upon Lindy Hop over 10 years ago, unlike Bec who started dancing at the age of 12 years old and concentrated on contemporary dance, jazz and ballet.
Bec and James both share a passion for Lindy Hop and believe that to over come the challenges of this dance, one should show joy and generosity to all others. Bec and James encourage their students to see the dance as a conversation between two individuals, listening carefully to one another and seeking a way to bring greater delight to their partner, perhaps this is why James and Bec are often seen smiling and giggling.
Having the opportunity to work with enthusiastic students over the two-day period is super thrilling.
Levels:
Both levels have the same content, in one level focueses longer on the details and the technique, in the other the learning pace is higher.
Flamingo: This level is for those who like to have a little more time on the weekend, who do not want to learn so much stuff at once or have not been dancing that long. With only one hour of lessons per day, it is the perfect way to combine dancing and leisure.
Class Finding Class
This time there will be one hour lesson with everyone and after this class the class will be divided into two different groups. Depending on learning speed, technical ability, etc. (Applies only to Gazelle and Elephant)
Gazelle: This level is for those with less experience or who simply prefer to learn at a slightly slower pace. You can more or less compare it to an intermediate level. You can Swing out, Lindy Circle, Texas Tommy and Charleston. You’re often on socials and mid-tempo songs are no problem for you, and sometimes a fast song, too.
Elephant: This level is for everyone with more experience (at least 2 years Lindy Hop). You can more or less compare it to an intermediate / advanced to advanced level. You have a wide repertoire of moves, you feel comfortable even at faster tempo. You understand the essence of Lindy Hops and build in Footwork Variations and play with Musicality. Please note there will be auditions on Saturday!
